Sunday March 2---


The Amherst Barcelona boys soccer team tied a strong United team in a rematch of the season opener that Amherst lost.  Early in the game found the boys down to United.  Ben N scored the only first half goal for the team and Peter H was stellar in net to keep the game close at 3-1.  Barcelona then made some adjustments at half time and came out in the second half with a better passing attack that allowed them to increase their scoring chances.  Ben N went into the nets and shut out United in the second half. 

Barcelona scored early in the second half  on break away goal from Evan M that was set up by Andrew S.  With the one goal difference Barcelona started to apply significant pressure that resulted in a corner kick.  Andrew L placed a nice ball across the penalty area that was knocked in by Max L.  With the score tied 3-3, Barcelona was once again in a frantic second half struggle with United.  A few more scoring chances were just missed by both teams.  Strong defense was played by Alex R, Sam K, and Jared C.  The midfield controlled  by Dylan M and Jay L.
