Sunday February 10--

The fifth game of the year was a real test for the Barca Boys as they played friends and training partners from the Amherst Blizzard.  Evan M started his first time as goalkeeper and was solid in net in the first half.  Andrew S was in on both first half goals, first assisting on Sam K's goal and then scoring the second goal of the game on a long ball assist from Ben N.  The half saw strong midfield play from Robbie S and Andrew L.  The half ended with Barcelona in the lead 2-1.

The Blizzard put on a second half attack that quickly resulted in a goal to tie the game early into the half.  The goal put Barcelona on their heels and the Blizzard  were suddenly close to scoring again getting behind, second half goalie, Andrew S only to have Defensemen Sam K clear the area.  Immediately after the close call Barcelona threatened the Blizzard goal and were awarded a free kick from just outside the penalty area.  Ben N neatly chipped in the direct free kick just under the cross bar for the go-ahead goal and momentum.  Barcelona then began to control play with Andrew L moved back to defense to put the clamps on any Blizzard attack.  Max L scored on a nifty pass from Dylan M sandwiched between two Evan M goals on smart runs from the striker position to round out the scoring.

Team Barcelona does not play next week but will have four practice session to prepare for the Lightning on February 24th.
