Sunday February 3---

A late Sunday evening, as the Super Bowl was begining, was the scene for the much anticipated tilt between the U10 Amherst Barcelona and the Northtowns Rage.  Ben N started in net for Barcelona and the team was steady under an onslaught of speed and pressure brought on by the Rage.  At the end of the first half the score was 0-0.  The Rage continued their steady attack in the second half eventually breaking down the Barca defense with some long through balls.  Jared C was like a wall between the posts.  The Rage scored some quality goals in the second half including a first time volley off a corner kick midway through the half.  The team is still preparing for the outdoor season with the slate of indoor games and nearly had the whole team in attendance for the first time this year with 11 of 12 players at the game.

With two practices this week, Barcelona hopes to continue the development process before taking on cross-field rival the Amherst Blizzard next week.  Barcelona has yet to beat the Blizzard in their two previous meetings and looks forward to next week's game.
